10 March 13 In the afternoon, a symposium between relevant departments of Changshu City and our school was held in the third conference room of the Administrative Office Building. The meeting was chaired by Professor Li Hongjun, Executive Vice Dean of the Graduate School of our school.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dean Li, on behalf of our school and the graduate school, delivered a welcome speech to Tang Yi, deputy director of the Changshu Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, who attended the meeting, and introduced the general profile of our school, graduate education and discipline development.
Then, Director Tang expressed his gratitude to our school for the warm reception, briefly introduced the overall development status of Changshu City, expressed his ardent expectation to cooperate with our school in the introduction of urgently needed professional talents and scientific and technological projects for the development of agricultural industry, and conducted exchanges and discussions from the following five aspects. First, create a postgraduate internship base, encourage towns and enterprises to establish postgraduate workstations, innovate the development of agricultural science and technology parks and introduce doctoral students to the station for docking. Second, pilot programs should be conducted to train graduate cadres and advanced agricultural technical personnel. Third, develop modern agriculture and introduce agricultural projects. Fourth, inspect and connect with knowledge talents in short supply in agriculture and rural areas. Fifth, focus on the grafting of scientific and technological resources with townships.
In addition, Lu Yi, deputy director of the Changshu Municipal Agricultural Committee, introduced the local agricultural development status, agricultural parks and industrial advantages. Zhou Daming, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Food Science of our school, introduced the development and processing of food in our school and the vegetable bases around the school. Dean Li answered questions about the cooperation between modern agriculture and our school, pointing out the need to achieve benign docking and interactive transformation of agriculture and the food industry, and said that our school now has the ability to cultivate high antioxidant functional vegetables, aerial three-dimensional cultivation models, potted vegetables and fruits, etc. It is emphasized that agricultural development must embark on a new market-oriented agricultural modernization path, and it is also necessary to use the processing industry to drive modern agriculture to promote reform and development.
The symposium also conducted consultations and coordination on the Changshu Municipal People's Government's planned working visit to Southwest University at the end of October.
